Cancellations
If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so 24 hours in advance. If there is less than 24 hours notice, I will need to charge you 50% of the fee for the missed session.

If you ever feel like a cancellation warrants an exception, or if paying the fee becomes a deterrent to scheduling therapy sessions or results in feelings of resentment, please talk to me about it. I strive to find creative ways to balance business policies and personal needs, rather than have policies be overly rigid and damage our relationship.

Session Length/ Fees/ Method of Payment
I have two options for length of sessions, and other arrangements may be made as needed:
Individuals: 50 minutes for $160 or 80 minutes for $220.
Couples or groups: 50 minutes for $200 or 80 minutes for $280.

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, checks, and credit cards.

If your finances are interfering with your access to therapy, I encourage you to talk to me to discuss options.  If my sliding-scale spots are currently full, I can put you on a waitlist for future fee reductions.

Use of Diagnosis and Insurance
I am not currently accepting insurance as payment, but I am able to file out-of-network claims on your behalf. Depending on your deductible, you may be able to get reimbursed for a portion of the cost of therapy. More information can be found on my Rates page.

If your health insurance does reimburse you, most will require a diagnosis of a mental-health condition.  Some conditions for which people seek counseling do not qualify for reimbursement.  If a qualifying diagnosis is appropriate in your case, I will inform you of the diagnosis and discuss it with you before I issue a receipt for you to give to the health insurance company.  Any diagnosis made will become part of your permanent insurance records.
